These laser cut wood outline frames were created for glass, glitter, resin, epoxy, and mixed media. These laser cut outlines are perfect for creating faux stained glass, sun catchers and more.

You fill in the voids (the open space) with your material of choice. You can add a backer such as vinyl to hold the material in while it cures and remove it afterwards.

These frames are great for adding paper to the back, fabric, or cardboard. You can dream up so many fun things with our laser cut outline frames.

Faux Stained Glass Sun Catchers

It is so easy to create glass art like faux stained glass and sun catchers with our laser cut outline wood frames. As shown above you will apply a sticky back transfer paper to the back of the laser cut frame. Make sure it is adhered really good before starting!

We will offer glass for kits and we recommend our friend Amanda at Deep South Shelling for even more glass and shell supplies!

Frequently Asked Questions

How thick are the cut out frames?

We use 1/8 inch material, It is a tad thicker but considered 1/8 inch.

What size materials can i use inside the frames?

You can use glass, glitter, resin, epoxy, or other filler materials in the frames. The larger glass may stick up but will give a nice 3d look. If you want the overall project to be more level to the frame, use a smaller material that is less than 5 mm thick.

Some like the chunkier look but it is a matter of preference.

What supplies do i need to do a faux glass look?

You will need a backer to hold the materials in while they cure. We recommend using vinyl on the back of these frames. Get the full recommended supply list here!

Once your project cures fully you can easily remove it from the back.

You can also use fabric, paper, cardboard.

You can use resin or epoxy, You could also use uv resin.

You can fill with any material you like just have fun exploring the different options.

What is included?

For some of the cut outs we will offer a kit, the kit will not include vinyl or resin.

Otherwise you are only getting the wood frame outline.

Can I order these to teach a class?

Absolutely We offer bulk qty options for these. A 6 pack, 12 pack or 18 pack. If you need larger quantities please contact us.

We do not allow our blanks to be re-sold as blanks online. If you offer the blank it must be sold as a kit with supplies.

You can offer our cut outs for in person classes and to sell a finished product.

What are the shipping details?

These will ship shrink wrapped on a piece of cardboard. For the Larger packs they will be shrink wrapped together securely.

We cushion all our kits for secure shipping.

What if I want a special design?

We offer custom cutting of designs. I also can help dream up something to fit your needs.

What sizes are available for the laser cut outs?

These laser cut out frames are available in a 12 inch size currently we are working to offer a 6 inch option as well.

Is glass safe to use?

Glass in small particles can be harmful if you inhale the dust. We recommend you use caution when working with glass, glitter and other small particles. Wear proper PPE. We highly recommend wearing gloves when handling glass.

Is resin safe to use for these cut outs?

Resin overall has warning labels. Each resin manufacturer will have its information about the product. There are resin products that are non-toxic, low odor, low-voc. Some are NO ODOR, NO VOCs. Always read the information from the manufacturer before use.

Overall it is best to use proper PPE and wear gloves, and make sure there is good ventilation in your work space.
